Rare and original Breast Star from the Imperial Order of the Southern Cross, Brazil’s most prestigious imperial order, originally established by Emperor Dom Pedro I in 1822. This is a Type III version, instituted in 1932, awarded for exceptional merit and distinguished service.
Front Details:
Design: Radiant star with alternating gold and white enamel rays
Center Medallion: Blue disk with five white stars representing the Southern Cross constellation
Inscription: Latin phrase "BENEMERENTIUM PRAEMIUM" – “Reward to the well-deserving”
Condition: Visible damage to white enamel on the arms of the star – includes cracks and chipping (see photos)
